Co-written by NY Times bestselling author Tom Woods, THE HOUSING BUBBLE is a critical, non-partisan examination of the policies and events that shaped the United States economy into one bursting bubble after another. Traveling the world for answers after starting a house painting business just in time for the crash, filmmaker Jimmy Morrison drove over 48,000 miles to track down the experts who saw it coming, seeking to understand the root causes, so that we can avoid being blindsided by the bigger bubbles and the inevitable crises that follow. Informative, eye-opening, fresh, funny, and occasionally shocking, THE HOUSING BUBBLE skillfully de-mystifies the boom/bust link between the stock market, the FED, and the housing market for the economist and layperson alike.

Screening the film has taken Jimmy Morrison another 50,000 miles to 40+ events. From the Mises Institute to the Warsaw School of Economics, from Hillsdale College to Oklahoma State, from the University of Toronto to Anarchapulco, the film has been shown all over the world! There was even a screening on a cruise ship in international waters.

Bob Morrison personally took thousands of veterans to see their memorials in Washington DC, but after years of working with the elderly, a sudden battle with dementia forced him to step back and refocus.

This 22 minute documentary premiered at the Anthem Film Festival in Memphis in July 2023. Director Jimmy Morrison introduced the film, which was followed by Q&A and a panel with John Papola. (To My Father) Jimmy also moderated a panel on inflation with Steve Forbes.

Our 2nd screening was in Washington, Iowa at the Farm and Film Fest on April 20, 2024. Jimmy’s grandparents grew up there and attended the same movie theater in the 1920s. It is the longest running movie theater in the world, as seen in the documentary Saving Brynton. The 3rd screening was in Cedar Falls, Iowa at the Cedar River Film Festival on November 2nd.

The film will be released soon, but it is already included in the special features of The Housing Bubble and The Fall of 2008.
